El Salvadorâs Bitcoin law came into effect on 9/7/2021. President Nayib Bukele claimed that âIf someone wants to continue loading cash, not receive entry bonus, not win over customers who have Bitcoin, not grow your business and pay commission on remittances, you can keep doing it.â However, according to Article 7 of the Bitcoin Law, âEvery economic agent must accept Bitcoin as payment when offered to him by whoever acquires a good or service." El Salvadorâs bitcoin debut stumbles over tech problems. The government had to take Chivo, its official crypto app, temporarily offline and the global crypto market slumped. Link (FT $)
Coinbase says SEC is investigating its crypto lending program. Coinbaseâs lending platform would allow customers holding a stablecoin called USD Coin to earn interest by lending it to other traders. The SEC indicated the activity would constitute a type of investment that needs to be registered with the government under investor-protection laws. Link (WSJ $)
British citizens can buy crypto through the Post Office's app. The state-owned Post Office has teamed up with DEX Swarm. Several politicians have condemned the move as cryptocurrencies have attracted regulatory scrutiny. Link

Coinbase Global Inc is planning to raise about $1.5 billion through a debt offering to invest in product development and potential mergers and acquisitions. Link

Solana has been down for hours due to âResource Exhaustionâ. Solana Labs CEO Anatoly Yakovenko attributed the downtime to a flood of transactions from bots during an initial decentralized exchange offering, or IDO, for a project called Grape Protocol on Raydium, a DEX similar to Uniswap. Link
